Conducted a full news department review to evaluate progress towards goals set out in the station's news expansion plan; provided recommendations for adjustments and next steps.

Advised 17 radio and television stations on the creation, structure, governance, and staffing of a statewide news collaboration initiative that ultimately became a CPB-funded Regional Journalism Collaborative and then a self-sustaining statewide news service. Assisted in selecting a Managing Editor for the collaborative, co-facilitated a two-day planning retreat for staff of the collaborative and its member stations, and provided ongoing coaching for the Managing Editor during the first year of operations.

Provided interim newsroom operations recommendations and editing services while the station was between news directors. Subsequently, led a two-day newsroom strategic planning retreat.

Conducted a content review followed by an onsite news staff workshop including content analysis, topic coverage prioritization, story planning training, and goal setting.  Provided feature editing services.

Provided feature editing support, as well as evaluation of news content for awards submission.

Conducted newsroom review and guided initial strategic planning process, including extensive staffing and workflow recommendations.

Provided extensive guidance as the station launched its first-ever news department, including guidance to senior leadership and station boards on building a solid ethical and structural foundation; assistance recruiting and hiring a news director, facilitation of two days of strategic planning discussions once the news director was on board, and ongoing coaching for the news director.

Co-created PRNDI's first-ever News Manager Training and Certification program and co-presented the workshop annually for six years at the PRNDI (now PMJA) conference.

Created and piloted an Editing Masterclass for KPBS editors.

Conducted a thorough review of news content, newsroom operations, and staffing and prepared a comprehensive report with an assessment of the current situation and recommendations for future growth and improvement. 

Conducted editing masterclass for staff.
